Hello again,

I having trouble with my PC.

Roughly every 20 minutes, my PC completely freezes, rendering it completely unresponsive. The monitor continues to display the last frame, but nothing works. The fans and HDD's slow down, as if idling, but do not stop.

After the first freeze, it happens in decreasing intervals. eg:

first crash: 30 mins (from boot)

second: 20 mins (after the first one)

third: 15 mins after

etc...

It happens more frequently when I am running intensive programs.

on previous threads, many people suggested that it was a Hard drive issue, but I am pretty certain now that it is not a HDD issue, as i have been through 5 different hard drives, and I have had the same problem with all of them.

I thought that maybe some other component was causing the hard drives to become damaged, but now i think that is just a byproduct of it freezing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(I believe my specs are on my profile, if they are not, I will add them there.)

I think this is a CPU issue. Is there any background programs? Try making a new partition and installing a clean copy of windows and running that. Or just reinstall windows all together.

Check to see if there's any driver or BIOS updates available.

I have reinstalled windows, but the problem persists, but I will try to make a new partition, but why would that help if it was a CPU issue?

They can all be seen from my profile,

TL;DR

tried using a new hard drive.

So this is the third thread, and no one even bothered mentioning other troubleshooting steps?

Since it most likely isn't HDD related (unless the SATA controller is dying), try running memtest next.

This is a very common issue, and there can be several things causing this. I would recommend going on PCPartPicker (pcpartpicker.com) and making a part list of your current build. If you don't know the name of all of your parts, I'm sure you could find it out with a little research. Also don't go to great lengths finding the name of things that probably don't have to do any with this problem like your case. PCPartPicker will tell you if something in your rig isn't compatible or if there are any things that just won't work hardware wise. That's where I would start at least.

If I had to guess I would say the most likely root of this problem is an insufficient PSU. Make sure that your PSU has enough power to support all of your components. Also, (last thing) don't try to overwork your PC with tasks it probably can't handle, this might sound kinda like a jerk thing to say, but make sure that you know you PC's limits.

The op clearly says that the parts are on my profile.

I had doubts about psu as well, is there any way to test this?

ok, I ran memtest, and it did not report any errors at all.

Someone else suggested that it was my psu, is there any way to test that?
