Old Server CPU Upgrade

My brother has an HP xw9400 with dual Opteron 2222 processors in it.  I know it's not the fastest, but he is wondering if he can upgrade the CPUs to either Opteron 2393SE or 2435. My concern here is motherboard support.  They're all F socket processors, but are there any chipset differences or is it a matter of changing firmware/bios?  I got the potential CPU options from the product manual pdf that was on HP's website (http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/getpdf.aspx/c04140689.pdf?ver=31).  My question to you guys is: Do you know if these processors are interchangeable?
