GTX 970 Question

i've got a question about the GTX 970.

 

if i overclock the memory on the 970, will i get past or atleast kinda counter the 3.5+0.5 memory bug?

No, that's not how that works.

It's still worth overclocking however.

Overclocking just boosts your clock speed and voltage so that it runs faster. The VRAM is out of your control. If you're worried about hitting the limit then get a 980 or another card that's not a 970

The only game I have seen hit the 3.5 GB limit is shadow of mordor so far, on ultra settings it hit 3.78 GB while doing a benchmark.
