Well, I just got scammed. It was a middleman scheme and I gave them around $160 worth of items. I know that what I did was very dumb but the only thing I can do is get the scammers trade banned. Please help.

Message to Valve support:

I got scammed from these two Counter Strike: Global Offensive knives (http://steamcommunity.com/market/listings/730/%E2%98%85%20Butterfly%20Knife%20%7C%20Crimson%20Web%20%28Battle-Scarred%29 and http://steamcommunity.com/market/listings/730/%E2%98%85%20Gut%20Knife%20%7C%20Forest%20DDPAT%20%28Field-Tested%29) in a middleman scheme (I gave my items to a middleman and he was supposed to do the trade for us). I gave my two knives, M4A1-S Hyper Beast, a Battleblock Theater head, and a few TF2 items. Overall around $160 lost. I understand that I made a massive mistake but I just lost a lot of money and I really can't deal with that. I hope you can help me and I really want my items back. By the way, I understand that the middleman has a warning on his profile but I didn't see it. Please, please help me. Please give me my items back.

bro NEVER do middle man even if they have a certificate signed by gaben himself saying he is a legit middleman, never never never never never never do it. if they say they need a middle man block and report immediately.

without video proof of a scam they wont get banned. all it will do is when a person goes to trade with them a pop up will say, this person has been reported from trade scamming by multipul people.

idk why you would middleman on something that is virtual. Middleman on things that are physical. Seems like you need some more common sense. Have you heard that you can't always trust people on the internet?

so.. i have this amazing concept to avoid this: the moment i get an item i toss it straight onto the market at a few cents under market price...

 

virtual pixels arent worth losing my steam account, or actual money.

To be completely honest, I've scammed people before, but they were really stupid instances and only for a couple cents. I've done stuff like, dude I'm only gonna buy for OPskins price. or another skin selling site. saying things like "Don't you know? nobody trades for steam market price anymore, I'm only gonna pay OP skins price or lower." and once in a while I get a couple bucks profit off of a dumb trade :/ Alot of traders are really dumb :/

Yes it was a bug on steam a while back, but it only affected a few players with slow internet. Steam is a great program now, especially with the steam mobile guard, its wayy harder to be scammed.

smart people record most trades they do that are items worth a decent price. you cant make one now but next time you trade $50+ record the trade but dont tell the person your recording it
