Good Gaming PC performance issue

Okay so i have a 2month old gaming pc that is custom built.

ive had no issue till now i find that it lags a lot and i get very low FPS compared to before.

example: cs:go 40 instead of 80-100, ETS2 30 instead of 60-80

Please tell me what im doing wrong.

the only thing iver really noticed is that there is quite some dust on the hard drives ( i dont think thats the issue im maybe wrong)

and also i basically leave it on 17/24 hours.could that be an issue?

The specs: i7 4790K ( NOT Overcloked) 16GB Ram, 1 GTX980 Superjetstream, 2TB tosiba har drive, 240GB SSD (win7 pro 64bit on it)

cooler is antec khuler 1250, PSU: 630W.

case: corsair carbridege-spec 03

Thanks for any replies.

that isn't the problem then. 600 w is more than enough to run a gtx 980

maybe its the drivers? try reinstalling them, or the entire os.

I'm Gonna Take this opportunity to brag and say I get better frame rates with an AMD card =P

Its gotta be something with the drivers, or Vsync is on and he has a 40Hz monitor xD

Yeah, so good that you should actually be getting much more than that. I have an i5 6600k and only a GTX 970 and I get 250-300 frames with everything at max.

As far as your problem goes, have you tried monitoring your hardware while gaming? Something might be strangely throttling/downclocking. At the very least it should help you eliminate variables.
