so... I need to pack my motherboard for RMA, as it seems to have stopped working. I have the original box, but I do not have the foam that came in it. I got an antistatic bag from the electronics store in own, and I'm wondering how I should package my motherboard. Will wrapping the motherboard after I put it in the antistatic bag with bubble wrap (or something else for that matter) hurt it?

No. The outside of the antistatic bag is likely conductive, but not the inside. This draws and static current inside the bug out. As long as the bubblewrap is outside the antistatic bag, you'll be alright.

I don't see why an anti-static bag and a lot of bubble wrap would hurt the motherboard, the original foam would probably be preferred by the company though. Also, don't forget the little black plastic piece that came in the CPU socket when you first opened the box.

Don't trust me with sharp things.

yes, i will remember the cpu socket cover thingy mabob. but yeah, what i plan to do is put the mobo in the bag, then wrap the outside of the bag with bubble wrap or put some packing peanuts in
