Audio problem

Go to solution Solved by arendsoogg,

Tested my headphones in the back of my pc on windows 10 that I have on my second hard drive. It worked fine, so I removed Realtek from windows 7 (my main OS where I had the problem) and it seems to be working fine now!

In conclusion: the problem was realtek..

First of all, I'm not sure whether to post this here or in the audio sub forum.

Quite a while back my friends started to hear my voice quieter after I speak for a little while (one described it as hearing me underwater). If I stopped talking and resume after a few seconds, they would hear me fine again for a little while and then the whole thing would repeat. My solution to this was plugging my headset in the front panel instead of the back of my PC.

This worked for a while but then the same thing happened recently and I solved this by changing a setting in realtek.

But yesterday my voice got quieter again..

I tested my headphones on someone else's PC and it was fine.

So I'm hoping it's just a matter of settings otherwise my motherboard might be broken.

Some useful specs

  • Motherboard - MSI Z97S SLI Krait edition
  • Case - Sharkoon Vaya II value
  • Headset - Creative Fatal!ty gaming headset

Thanks for helping me in advance
