The HDMI on cameras are HDMI out ports, you won't be able to input a signal.  And NO, you cannot attach a 3.5mm jack microphone to the camera using the HDMI port.

Hello!

I'm just wondering if I can use a 3.5mm to micro (or mini, i'm not really sure) hdmi adapter,so that I can use an 3.5mm jack mic on the Sony HandyCam CX280?
