usb device not recognized

Go to solution Solved by Babbleloo,

I just plugged it into my laptop to see if it was the camera but everything worked fine. Then I plugged it back into my pc and it suddenly works! Don't know what fixed it but it works now so that all that matters. Thanks to you guys for helping out

Hey there, I have a problem that I have not been able to solve by scouring through forums so I am here in hopes to get this fixed.

First: custom built pc:

Windows 10 OS

AMD Athlon 5250 quad core processor

Gigabute am1m-s2h motherboard

Asus Radeon r7 250x graphics card

600 watt corsair power supply

My problem is I have a Logitech c920 webcam that I am trying to use but whenever I plug it in it tells me "USB device not recognized... has malfunctioned". These are the steps that I have taken to try to fix this:

restart pc

check for hardware updates

uninstall driver

reinstall driver

update driver

cried a lot

From what I have gathered from the forums this should fix the problem but it hasn't for me so I am hoping that someone can help me so I can get this going. Thanks

The most important step you can do is cry a lot. After that change USB ports. Have you tried another USB port by chance?

Yes, I have tried all the usb ports

Are you using USB 2.0 Ports or 3.0?

It sounds like the camera has malfunctioned to me.
