[UK] CPU Help. £

Go to solution Solved by stealth80,

so £300 for a case, and tower components? You need to be specific about what your require especially at such a low budget. It be worth just hitting a couple of pc build guides to get an idea of what is involved.

Hello, I'm building a new machine.

I want to use this CPU Intel Xeon X5350 (Two of them)

with this a Dell Poweredge SC1430

MSI Radeon R7 370 GAMING AMD Graphics Card 2GB.

1. Will this all work together i.e not bottlenecked

2, What ram would it use, I think it uses DDR2 would that be a problem?

3. Would this run games like GTA V and Fallout4?

I'm a noob when it come's to computer hardware.

I need to keep this on a budget, so under £300.

Putting it bluntly I'm confused.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

whats the use of the pc? you're going a complicated way for a beginner. Pretty sure you're gonna need a server board and ECC ram for that

it'll work, but you get what you pay for, and you're not paying much.

from what i can find the processors actually dont take ECC.

Isn't it usually the board that needs it? I only know what I've read about server stuff, and that aint much lol

its the combination of both, afaik its always optional, and both the processor and board have to support it.

This is the ram. The fact these CPUs are running DDR2 probably means your gonna have a hard time on games

Whats the purpose of this? Is it a project to prove old kit? Or are you actually totally lost on what to get? Basically those CPUs aint going to run Fall Out 4 or GTA V unfortunately, so if this is for gaming and you haven't already bought I would advise you to stay away

I'm not trying to prove how good older tech is, just trying to build a computer on the cheap.

I don't know what to get nor how much to spend on it.

I need something that can run newish games and do practical things like work in blender.
