CPU upgrade

Go to solution Solved by HKZeroFive,

I don't plan on Overclocking, i don't see any real use. with my current setup i'm getting 40-70fps on GTA on max settings...i feel i should be getting more for a Crossfire Setup. Should i just get a normal 6600?

Yeah, your CPU is bottlenecking those 390s.

If you're not overclocking, then a 6600 is the CPU for you.

I'm a working teenager (17) and i made a pretty decent amount of money over the summer.

I made myself a gaming PC.

After you looked at you're probably shrieking in horror saying "Why would you do that!" I understand it was a pretty stupid decision.

I have some cash left and tax returns are coming and i'm going to base a budget, no more than $500 to spend.

If i were to buy a new Mobo and CPU would this combination bottleneck my graphics cards?

My 8350 and mobo was from an older gaming pc i had gotten to save some money but now i want change those out and re-purpose them.

The new parts i had in mind was a Intel Core i5-6600K and an Asus H170 Motherboard

You might want to grab the Z170 mobo instead of the H170 for overclocking the 6600K.

In that case, grab the base 6600 and you'll be onto a winner.
