i7 4790k, msi r9 390x

New computer I built a couple of weeks ago

I first noticed this today when chrome wouldn't let me create a new tab, but the current page was fully functional. A few seconds later it let me create the tab.

Next was random lagging of the mouse, like you used to see on computers 10 years ago, not haswell PC's with an SSD

Then I loaded up 3ds max, and despite the program being responsive, nothing showed up in any view ports, I couldn't view any assets, and dialogue boxes were empty.

Opening the start menu, I noticed that neither the 'power' or 'all apps' buttons were visible, yet clicking where they should have been did open up the right menus. Closing and reopening the start menu fixed it briefly, only to glitch again.

This seems to me like something to do with the GPU, though it is brand new and hasn't been overclocked. (Though it often runs hot)

I haven't a clue what is wrong, all drivers and the bios is up to date.

It has nothing to do with the SSD, it's not like loading times are impaired, and it's brand new anyway

Such issues are indicative of faulty drives. Not the speed but the overall snapiness of an SSD is not present on your system

Balls

I could be wrong though. Try using the iGPU for a bit. if the problem persists, it's the SSD. If not, it's the GPU
