Stacking thermal pads?

My dad accidentally got the 1 mm thick pads instead of the 1.5 mil, and I was wondering if it was okay to stack the pads to actually make contact with the cooler. The little black dudes are the things that are kinda nekkid.

 

 

Its fine to stack thin pads(like 1mm) a few times(like 2-3 pads), but honestly its better to just get the right thickness of pad(especially since you won't have to compress them as much in your case).

I wouldn't on 480. Considering How cheap thermal pads are, I would just order some more.

Don't stack them, the .5 extra mm will cause more pressure, making them actually heat up more, I've done that and burnt out a GPU. Just order the correct one's and who you bought them from might let you return or refund

I would give it a shot. If it doesn't work just get new ones.
I've tried too thick pads on my latpop and it did not worked. Had to buy a proper ones.
