Hi! this is my first post here and I am currently trying to get a new setup and computer.

my budget is around 1000$ for the computer itself, I have 3 1920x1080 27 inch monitors, so what I basically need for poker and programs surrounding poker is a good CPU and max ram available for the price, I think 32gb is a good number.

I have many questions:

First of all, If I get a motherboard with intel graphics and 3 slots for monitors such as a Gigabyte GA-H97M-HD3, can I use the 3 monitors at 1920x1080p without trouble? so get a graphics card for the monitors itself or just use the motherboard's?

Would you recommend getting instead of a 1150 socket, spending a little more and aiming for a 6th gen intel 1151 socket motherboard?

I am planning on getting either the i7 4790k or the 6700k if you can insight something in these processors would be highly appreciated.

I'd like some transportability since I am constantly traveling and I dont need a huge desktop, is a corsair air 240 recommendable, if there is something better for the price I'd gladly accept recommendations.

I'd appreciate some help here since it is my first build and I am quite amazed by how many different models are available atm.

any recommendation is highly valued.

Thank you!

If you get a CPU with a K in its name get a motherboard with a Z in its name. Z170 for lga 1151 and Z97 for 1150

- snip -

To start off, 32GB of RAM is completely overkill for your needs, even 16GB might even be a bit overkill, but save yourself some cash and go with 16GB.

Second, you're gonna need a graphics card to push out all those pixels, as most motherboards don't have 3 display outputs for all 3 of your monitors. Even something like a Geforce GTX 950/750Ti would be plenty.

Lastly, both processors you selected are absolutely great, it's really down to choice if you want a 4790k or the 6700k. the 6700k will be a little more expensive, so if you wanna save, go with the 4790k :)

Hope this helped! :)

I need the 32gb of ram for a program itself that I use that requires this amount of RAM, sometimes even more.

I will check the z type motherboards, just as for my knowledge why do I need this, is it because of compatibility or something else?

thank you both!

Which program is it that needs that much?

Z- chipsets were recommended because you were looking at k (unlocked multiplier) CPUs. Those specific motherboards allow overclocking. If you aren't going to do any, then you could just get the 4790 or the 6700 and go for selection of cheaper motherboards.

my point is: do I get something like this http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/NqZDGX or do I need to take some part of the budget to spend on a good graphics card given that I will never game on this desktop?

Like I said before, even a low end graphics card would be enough for your needs from what I can tell. I say this because you just need the ports, since that motherboard won't be able to support 3 monitors at once. something like this would be more than enough: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-Nvidia-GeForce-Graphics-GDDR5-PCI-Express/dp/B00ICUGOP0/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1453068749&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+650+ti

I say it can handle 3 monitors because of this https://gyazo.com/5110c0dec314feced2ce339e2c009bd3 it says "supports up to three displays simultaeously" https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-A/specifications/

and I see a displayport an hdmi an rgb and a dvi-d, i am unsure why it shouldn't work.
