When I get to the step where I choose what storage device the OS will go on, I'm met with this.

I have important data on the hard drive and I don't want to format it. Any ways to install without losing data?

As said above, no. You need to back up all data and then format the drive, install windows and then transfer the data back.

Slelect that drive. Installer will ask what to do stuff already on that drive. If all your stuff is under Uders or other Windows made folders, installer will save them under Windows.old. Other files will be lost.
