So I've had the Corsair K70 (Cherry MX Reds) for a year now, after getting my first "proper pc gaming build". I Got told at the store at the time "red's" are the best for competitive gaming (what I do), so I got them straight away without researching

And for some reason I just don't seem to love them as much as other people claim too, It feels like it's missing something. I think one of the issues is me hitting the bottom of the keycaps and also the sound (getting orings, but it won't make them silent).

So I was thinking about changing keytypes/color (not now), but for when I do I wanna know what would suit me?

-  Need something much more quieter then reds

- Great for competitive gaming, fast key pressing time ect.

-  A little bit harder to press (not to much)

I have currently been looking at the MX browns or a topre switch...

P.S I know nowhere near me where I can test them all, and I'd love to but simply can't

Might add this later...

I think you just confusing "reaction time" with "keypress time".

There is really no better keys than the reds.

Unless you get a touchscreen keyboard.

That's what I meant, so red's are the best for terms of "keypressing time". No other key what is a bit more harder to press could match it?

Well like @Kloaked said, browns.

But browns are harder to press but quiet.

So in terms of gaming, it doesn't match up against a red.

^Therefore no need for you to change it imo.

They have the same actuation force iirc, but the click makes them feel heavier. That's what I've heard at least.

Read a guide and so confused :/

Brown/Red have the same activation point, only the brown is more heavy and has a linear feel (so you can tell when your pressed it).

This I'm guessing means red will be faster, but I guess comport is really what matters here as the difference won't matter in most cases...

How are topre switches?

Might add this later...

This video helped me decide. I love the tactile response, but the reds were just for me, they feel much better than what I had previously

How are topre switches?

A linear switch means there's no tactile feedback when actuating. Browns indeed seem like the best bet in your case, but I'd really suggest trying them first.

People describe topre switches as "typing on a cloud of boobs". They sound very mushy indeed.

I really don't like video's like these, they use different keyboards and the mic can also change the tones of the click's.

Thanks but :D
