So today when powering PC I got a message from BIOS stating: The system has experienced boot failures because of overclocking or changes of voltages and that to prevent damage settings been automatically reset to default values. After this warning PC restarted and booted normally with my overclocking gone. However when I went to BIOS to check what's been done I got the same warning about boot failures + extra note stating: ''Last settings in this page may not coincide with current H/W states''

My system:

MB: Gigabyte Z68AP-D3

CPU: i5-2500k (Used to be OC'd to 4.5Ghz)

RAM: 8GB

GPU: 560Ti

PSU: Corsair 650W

SSD: Corsair 240GB

So I have a few questions:

Should I do anything about it? At the moment PC seems to be running fine as usual and I have plans to upgrade it as soon as new generation of video cards are released(I'm hopping for huge power leap to facilitate VR technology in GPU's)

What normal settings should look like? I've OC'd this CPU all the way back in 2011 and honestly can't remember what it should look like.

Is it CPU failure or MB failure that caused this?

Should I just buy new MB + CPU combo and replace graphics card later?
