How to know if..

How do you know if your motherboard allows you to overclock your cpu? I know the CPU has to have an unlocked feature but I just don't get the whole thing with the motherboard, any answers? I have a 4690k btw

For intel, you need a Z or X series board to overclock a K series CPU.

H's are more for locked chipsets.  Some good Z97 motherboards are the MSI Gaming 5/Krait/PC Mate, Asus Z97 A.  Pick one of those that matches your color scheme.  "Gaming" motherboards just have a couple more bells and whistles.

I'm trying to find a white MOBO to match everything, but the only one there is is a msi krait but i'm not gonna be doing SLI so that'll be kind of a waste no?

What's the rest of your build?  I can help mix and match everything.  It shouldn't be a waste.

Looks good!  Stick with the 980ti.  Might also  want to switch the cooler to a Cryorig H7.  It matches the theme better.

The Krait is a good one.   SLI capability on a motherboard doesn't matter.  Crossfire is AMD and SLI is Nvidia.

Always better to have a single more powerful GPU over 2 weaker ones.  SLI causes microstuttering if game developers don't properly integrate it.

No problem!  NZXT H440 is bigger and less whiter.  Fractal Design Define R4 is a very nice looking white case as well.  The build itself is great.
