First Gaming Build, Suggestions Please

Go to solution Solved by Langdon,

I'd get a 770 instead of a 680. They perform about the same and the 770 has GPU Boost 2.0.

See if you can get an IPS monitor as well.

I personally don't think an AX650 is worth it, I'd rather get a cheaper Seasonic alternative. 80+ Gold isn't worth the extra money, you won't save enough on your electricity bill to make it worth it. 80+ Bronze is just fine but if you can find an 80+ Silver or Gold for around the same price then go for it.

Other than that, looks good.

Hey guys, I'm 17 and I will be attempting to build my own gaming rig. For the past 10 years I've been using $400 premade PC's from Future Shop and Best Buy and I feel it is time to upgrade

Looks good overall, mixing diffirent size RAM dimms isn't recommended but should work. Also you might want to look into getting a 7970, it'll be almost 100$ cheaper, perform pretty much the same and have more vram, plus you'll get a few free games.
