Do we know when this will come out?

Do we know if it will use the same connector type as DP 1.2? If so, will it just be a firmware upgrade to your MOBO and graphics card? I would be ultra pissed if it is a new connector type. These connector types are getting out of control.

The DisplayPort 1.3 finalized specification was published at the end of 2014. No graphics cards or monitors on sale today currently support it. NVIDIA and AMD's next generation of graphics cards are assumed to add support for it. When monitors support it is unknown, but it is not needed anyway except on displays at a higher spec than 3840×2160 at 75Hz.

It uses the same connector and cables. It will not be possible to "upgrade" current DP 1.2 devices to support DP 1.3.
