Hello,

I am going to buy a new screen and some things are not really clear to me.

I saw this one Iiyama ProLite B2480HS-W1 and this one AOC G2460VQ6

The Iiyama has a contrast ratio of 5.000.000 : 1 (dynamic) and 1:000 : 1 (static) and the AOC has 80:000.000: 1 (dynamic) and also 1:000 (static).

Also the brightness on the Iiyama is 300cd/m² and the AOC has 250cd/m²

The AOC has 1ms response time and the Iiyama the has 2 ms. both are 75 Hz.

What is the dynamic contrast ratio meaning?

Kind regards,

wnstn

Dynamic contrast is a difference between a fully white pixel at 100% brightness and black at the lowest brightness. It really tells you nothing. Static is what you are aiming for because it shows you an actual difference.

I need S340. But more Define S'ish

They're both practically the same.

If you want a brighter screen, and willing to compromise a negligible difference in response time, go for the AOC.

If you don't mind a slightly darker screen (In comparison) and want the negligible difference in response time, Ilyama is the way.
