So I have an old Abit AB9 so I had never overclocked thus because I both want to go into the IT field and an old Core 2 Extreme. So playing with the clock settings I had to reset the BIOS to remove a clock that was to unstable so after clearing the CMOS it would not boot anymore with the jumper on pins 1-2 like it should. But now if I remove the jumper starts right up with a cleared CMOS.... For example with jumper on pins 1-2 will not boot, lights on the mobo and post code 00 as normal but if i press the power button (or bridge the power pins) nothing but when I remove the CMOS jumper starts right up with a cleared CMOS. Same every time or if I start out with the jumper on pins 2-3 it starts up no problem with cleared CMOS. Thus the mobo still works but every time I boot it up now it will have the CMOS cleared and that can get annoying fast. So I would appreciate any thoughts or help with this matter.
