I have a mid tower case. It has an 140mm exhaust fan, but no intake fans. The PSU is mounted on top of the case, and the rest of space is taken by cables. The GPU is way down on bottom so I've drilled holes on bottom of the case, so it doesent have to pull air all the way from front of the case. It exhausts most of the air out of the case, only little of it gets into the case. The stock intel heatsink is what's cooling the CPU. The front of insides of the case isn't meant to support a fan, so basically the only place left to mount the fan is on the sidepannel, and with some modifications it could work. Now is it better if the fan is mounted in front of the case or on the side pannel. Im guessing its better in front. I need suggestions on where to mount it if anybody has any ideas, and how will it contribute to the case airflow.

My CPU temp doesnt go above 62°C, and gpu doesen't go above 60°C under load. The chassis exhaust fan is unplugged at the moment.

i did my "fan-setup" with some ms paint and a case picture

anything under 90°C is safe for a cpu/gpu ;)

I think you are going to be good. If you are still worried an intake fan on the side panel wont hurt the machine.

nice idea

Thanks for quick reply. :)

your welcome

as vulcan suggested you could try installing an side panel fan

looks like almost all other options would be some ghetto mods on that case ( i've seen awesome ghetto mods )

remember the nasa story when americans invented a 2mio $ project for a pen and the russian just used pencils to write while in space
