directx compatibility

hi everyone, i am trying to run a very old school game on windows 7(2000, not dos) and when I launch the game it gives me an error message saying that "this computer does not have a graphic accelerator. 

i have r7 370 and ive also tried with an old HD 6670. i believe that the game is directx 7 or 8. is there any software available for old directx compatibility?
