Speakers & Headset?

I have a set of speakers that are USB powered along with a 3.5mm audio connector. I also have a HyperX Cloud headset that is ALSO connected via  a 3.5mm audio connector.

My question is, how can i have these both plugged in and swap between the two devices? I like using my speakers when playing music when some buddies come over and I use my headset for playing games and skype calls.

I do not have a sound card, only onboard sound from my Gigabyte H87 Motherboard, and the audio jacks on the front of my Cooler master 690ii advanced mid tower case.

Could I simply plug my headset to the rear audio ports and my speakers to the front of the case? If so, how would i swap between the two devices with ease?

I think i tried to do this once before but one device wouldn't be detected if the other was still plugged into the PC, but I'm not 100% sure as it was awhile ago.

Thanks in advance,

MRC.

I'd like to use a solution (software) such as this but my front 3.5mm port broke after plugging in and unplugging the headphones so many times lol. That program should apply you to switch through software with both plugged in I believe.

I have this now: http://www.amazon.com/Speaker-Headset-Switching-Manhattan-172851/dp/B000K8PH8C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452413503&sr=8-1&keywords=computer+audio+switch which is honestly okay, works perfect and is easy but my headphones don't go that loud there is some volume loss imo.
