Installation probs

ShoMy
Go to solution Solved by Coaxialgamer,

Had the same thing with my parents laptop. The hdd died.

My friend got my his old laptop to "repair" or see if anything can be done.

When i try to bring system up it just blackscreen after starting screen from manufacturer.

So first thing i doubt was system error and i got my USB poped it in and started installing it.

It took windows 7 about 15 hours to install,i coudn't belive,i mean i can understand if it takes 3 4 h but 15.

So for last 5 hours it was just standing on "Completing installation" and i just pluged USB off cuz i was just wasteing my time.

I tryed booting system cuz in that phase it shoud already have basics of windows so i coud log on and run some tests.

Do you maybe know what is prob? I suspect it coud be bad hard drive cuz that laptop really bugs and taking notice that installation took so long.

Model of laptop is Lenovo G565 i belive..

You should never unplug the usb whilst it's installing

If the hard-drive wasn't broken before it is now

However that does sound like slow read write speeds from either the usb (old port)

or HDD

Yes i know but i was just "fuck it"..

I use that USB for other computers so i gues problem doesn't lie there.

I guess then that hard drive shoud be checked..

It could also be a slow port on the laptop

It's probably a slow or dead hdd. I suggest you try booting from a live linux install on a usb drive and see if that works - if it does then there's probably no problem with the hardware aside from the hdd.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*
