I am in desperate need of this measurement:

 

 

If anyone has this case, could you kindly measure that for me? I really need to know whether or not my R9 290 is too long, and from what I've collected it's within a mm and I need more precision.

 

I need the measurement from the inside surface of the front panel to the inside surface of the rear panel (where the I/O bracket for a GPU makes contact). Thanks!

 

I understand my 290 is a hot card, blah blah blah. I have it for a reason and if it fits in this case, I'm going to keep it. If not, I'm open for a trades on an R9 380 or equivalent card that is shorter in length.

I've already posted on Overclock, Reddit, and @MetallicAcid 's Build log on here, hopefully I get an answer as I very much like this case and it would be a perfect replacement for my Silverstone SG05.

They are based in Taiwan, and they will most likely give me the entire chassis length instead of that exact measurement.

I cannot provide measurements for you, but Jesus, you are actually crazy about your MITX. The SG05 is the smallest case. Period. I'd just buy another one if I were you. The fact that you are willing to downgrade for another case (sidegrade) is a bit excessive.

The Metis is a stunning case in my eye and I would happily give up my SG05 for it, as long as my 290 fits. Even if it doesn't I'm willing to trade with someone for a shorter card like an R9 380.

That's a big performance drop, and I don't see why you can't just use your case like a "normal" person. I'd kill to go Mini-ITX in that case, but X99 really can't go there (AsRock sucks imho.) I mean, it's not like you rebuild your PC everyday... right?

I can't use it, it's been modded so much and I just don't have the time or the tool I need to finish it. I'd rather just buy something nice and leave it at that.

 

I might just get another SG05 and do the mod to fit the 290, but still, that's quite a bit of work.

I don't see why you wouldn't just get another SG05. If you can trade your 290 for a Mini Itx GTX 970 then go for it.

I could, but even if I cut a hole (which is what you do to fit the 290 in there) it's still longer than the entire case, so I'd have to make a new front panel as well, which I sure as hell am not doing again, or use a spacer I made, which doesn't look very clean.

I am not trimming a $200 GPU to fit in a $40 case.

 

I may be crazy when it comes to mITX cases but that is one thing that will never happen.

 

If you want, suggest a case I should buy. It needs to be small, preferably cheap and have a nice look to it while not wasting space. It needs to fit all of my hardware without modification. If you can do that, then I'll stay with that case as I'll never need to mod it to fit something.
