So, for the past 3-4 Months I've been doing some research into a new PC that I want to build by myself. A lot of the parts I've picked out such as the SSDs is my choice and are not negotiable in terms of changing them to a hybrid or Mechanical or decreasing size. The reason why I'm posting this is to find out if the parts I've picked out(http://pcpartpicker.com/p/mpxyGX) will be just right for my future plans.

These plans involve:

-Adding to a Ultra-wide monitor at 1440p

-Turning it into a full Water cooling loop

-Being able to Handle games that have little to none optimization at minimum of a 1920x1080 monitor

(will be edited overtime)

The parts I've decided on for this build(if your not willing to look at the link) are as follows:

-GPU w/Geforce GTX 980Ti chip-set with 6 Gb of Vram

-CPU Intel i5-4690K 3.5 GHz Quad-Core processor(will be overclocked)

-Cooler Master Seidon 120V

-Gigabyte GA Z97X Gaming 3 Motherboard

-G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16 Gb (2x 8 Gb sticks)

-1x 250 Gb SSD and 1x 1 Tb SSD

-Corsair Graphite Series 230T Black

-EVGA 750W 80+ Gold certified fully modular

-LG UH12NS29 optical drive

This system will also be operating on Windows 8.1(64-bit)

The Total cost not counting fans and fan controller comes down to $1,758.66 as of the time of this post.

The question is, is all of it worth it for what I'm planning for later on or is there something that may be unnecessary and change it?

It's pretty good, but it doesn't matter how good your system is, if it's unoptimized, it will suck.  There is nothing a system will do for lack of optimization.  As a matter of fact, the more esoteric you make it, the more likely you will have problems.  High end computers tend to have components that are more rare, hence less likely to work with what little optimization the program has.  The point of any level of optimization is to hit the broadest swathe of computers.  The vast majority of players will have systems that are not among the high end.  Therefore a store bought HP that is 3 years old is more likely to run your unoptimized program than that beast of a machine.

Well, the reason I Bring this up is for that reason alone, is to mostly increase fps but to also have a more stable computer, Currently my Alienware that i bought a few years ago which has a AMD Radeon R9 270 has crashed a few times with one game so far(tf2) but it may be a directx version problem or something else. However the PA game im not quite sure if its just the textures or the optimization, but my computer manages 60 fps when there are no effect on the screen, but once a effect such as smoke, or things of the sort comes up the frames drop down to about 50-45 and is set to fast, which barely looks different from High, other than some lighting changes.

The game in particular is Empyrion-Galactic Survival

So, for the past 3-4 Months I've been doing some research into a new PC that I want to build by myself. A lot of the parts I've picked

Here ya go, Your Fan set up is complete overkill and unnessisary

Otherwise you're probably better off with an AMD GPU as Free-sync costs less than G-sync

and you're most likely better off with a 4k display over a 21:9 1440p display, as the Ultra Wides Start at $1000 on average while you can get a 4k IPS free-sync display for like 600

Acer Predator Free-sync Version, around $1000

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/acer-monitor-umcx1aa001

LG 27MU67 4K IPS free-sync display

http://www.google.com/shopping/product/17120560974970123385?lsf=seller:6136318,store:4186520405911227569,lsfqd:0&prds=oid:1523635370315146201&q=computer+monitor&hl=en&ei=hm6QVoLcEdaejwO6ga7wDg

Still some room in the budget as well if you wanted to up the GPU to like a Fury

In addition if you really want more fans then get a 120mm 4 pack like this for $12

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103052

and if you really want a fan controller, then go for the Sentry Mix 2, it can handle up to 6 fans and is $30

Unfortunately you can't overclock the 4690 since it's not the K variant, so the Z97 mobo and CPU cooler are unnecessary. I'd grab either a cheaper H97 motherboard or a i5 4690K. On top of that, if you're just solely gaming, 8GB of RAM is enough. The PSU can be cheaper, a 650W one from SeaSonic or XFX will do. The 250GB Kingston SSD is garbage, I'd grab a Adata one or a Samsung 850 EVO.

Since you you have a bit of a leeway in terms of your budget, I've added a Fractal Design case (which can be changed of course) and a H100i GTX AIO liquid cooler for overclocking the CPU.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($227.99 @ SuperBiiz)

ok, did not know that there are only certain types of CPU's can achieve overclocking. Edit: my bad, forgot there was a K in the name on the Partpicker list, still good to know this

And like i stated earlier, the ultra is not a buy now prioty, and I feel that 4k would be over kill for me, I generally have the monitor about 12-18 inches away from my eyes and the Extreme details of a 4k monitor aren't just worth it to me anyways.

4k is more about productivity than it is for details in games, you can fit just a ton of stuff on a 4k screen compared to a 1080p display or even a 1440p display, plus more pixels less money

If nothing else then get a 1440p IPS 144hz Free-sync Display, this one has the full range for free-sync unlike the older ASUS one, $586 if your main focus is gaming, then the faster refresh rate is going to be great

https://pcpartpicker.com/part/acer-monitor-xf270hu

Mostly point is invest your money in a display rather than the best GPU you can get, because the display is going to last you a lot longer than the GPU will, display tech changes a lot slower than GPU tech, especially now that adaptive sync displays are available, just look at like the top GPUs from 2 years ago, current gen mid range cards are almost as fast as them

Alright, Ill keep an eye on that monitor then, And i'm not saying this to be rude but the reason I picked a high end graphics card like this is because I need a little bit better performance with my games and to be able to add a second monitor that is larger and still not lose out on FPS. I still know that for what i play/do I do not need anything more than 1 GPU

The 980 ti is complete overkill for 1080p though, a 390/970 is more than enough as is, and ya for the price you could get a mid range GPU and upgrade your display

And running multiple displays doesn't impact performance really, here's a 5800K APU running 3 displays, streaming a show, and running dota at playable frame rates at 1080p

Alright, after doing some research. I've come down to the fact that the Ti is over kill, and I'll either go for a 980 or a 970, just depends on how I feel about it. I did like that monitor you showed me earlier, so when I get the chance I'll probably go for 1 for now and get a second later. I also forgot to mention why I chose the Lamptron, is because of its design, shown below:

 lamptron-fc-fc5v3-bk-fan-controller-7.jp

This is just my kind of preference, I like being able to have this kind of information presented to me, so once I saw it I'm pretty much sold. I don't really mind having 5-6 controllers, The bigger reason for the controller is to get a the case fans tuned into a speed that keeps the hottest parts of the computer as cool as possible with minimal noise. Or having them cranked up to the highest speeds for getting rid of the heat.

So with your help, I'm glad to say I have my plans finalized and I will probably be happy with the end result of the computer. And have learned a few new things along the way. The main color scheme I'm looking for in the build is a red and black look, so I'm mostly looking for parts that fit what im looking for and the color, so I've got that part right. Total cost now with fans and fan controller are $1821.12 and without is $1668.76. with the current amount of money I've saved up, and a plan to sell the Alienware I'm using for gaming right now, im about 250$ short for $1821.12. So hopefully I'll do some more work over summer and have the rest I'll need, and once thats done I'll post the results of this computer, plus probably a video on youtube if I can remember that from now.

I appreciate the Help guys, this has solved what I was needing to know and finished pointing me in the right direction.
