GTX 950 vs R9 380

Stefz
Go to solution Solved by don_svetlio,

Thanks guys. Also, any PSU recommendations for 380 around 70-80 EUR price point?

XFX 550W

SeaSonic 550W

Super Flower 550W

Corsair RMx, RMi, HX, HXi 550W (Avoid CS, CX and VS)

EVGA G2, GS, GQ, B2 550W (Avoid B1, G1, NEX and W1)

Antec 550W (Avoid Basiq series)

Basically, the 380 needs 180W, the rest of the system needs 120W

I say 550W for space for future upgradability else even 450W is enough.

I know that R9 380 wipes the floor with 950 but will it be an overkill on 1280x1024 monitor? No plans on getting a new one any time soon.

Overkill? Not really, it will surely last a lot longer seeing as it's close to 50% faster

Integrated graphics would probably max out any games at that resolution.

Intel HD graphics are still much like that one guy in class who ate the glue rather than use it to stick things together.
