When I was doing my build, I had found a few people who had problems using backplates with EK waterblocks because the screws included were not long enough to fit through the backplate and into the waterblock.

I'm not sure if you'll have the same problem with Koolance but if you do, just be prepared to get some new screws. I ended up buying longer M3 and M4 screws so I could use EVGA backplates on 2x EVGA GTX670 FTW with EK GTX680 blocks. 

 

Sounds like you should be ok since yours already comes with backplates so the screws should be fine.

It will work, but you'll only be able to screw in to the holes that line up with the block.
