Razer synapse wont open

Go to solution Solved by Benji_w,

After the auto-update on the 30th of december synapse upgrade itself to 2.0 or whatever it is. And now it wont open, if I right click and physically press Open Synapse nothing happens. All razer support has done is over the span of a week have 4 different IT people tell me to "update your drivers for >insert brand name here<" and ive already tried the things, aswell as tried them AGAIN after razer asked me to. I'm on windows 10 with a intel 4790k. Any help here?

Uninstall it completely then restart your system, download a fresh copy and install it.

Yea, as soon as synapse became a critical windows update was the date that i dumped my razer KB and mice. That software was so terrible and there was no way to remove it from your system. Even going through the registry and manually deleting anything razer related, it would come back every reboot prompting me to install it.

When in doubt, re-format.

This is how the decision went to implement synapse, verbatim.

"This mouse had onboard memory for up to 10 profiles, and didn't require any drivers installed once the profiles are made. Let's disable the onboard memory entirely and require the user to create an account to use their mouse. This way whenever they plug their mouse into a new computer, they have to install our software to be able to use these profiles. Let's also have crappy servers that go down and make the mouse not work at all when that happens. This is EXACTLY what our users want right?!"

EDIT: Yes, I am a little butt-hurt about the whole synapse thing. But fuck those guys.

When in doubt, re-format.

I want to have your fucking first born child. This worked, thanks for being more helpful than 4 of razer's support team.

No problem, because it's technically a driver, you need to restart your system after you uninstall/install them.
