Why i want a mini itx is for traveling.yes i could get a laptop but it doesnt have the punch a desktop has.  i travel alot for my job, when i have the chance i attend LAN events, plus mini itx has alway intested me. so far the price of this system is at 1100 dont want to go much higher then that.

The CPU cooler might fit in the prodigy but most large coolers interfere with the GPU because the CPU socket is placed so close to the PCI slot on mini-ITX motherboards.  You can try it but honestly, an H80i would probably be a better option.  Also, what power supply are you going to use?  You only have 180 mm of space for the PSU and keep in mind that the power cables will take up at least 12-15 mm of that space.  I usually suggest a non-modular power supply in the Prodigy because of the extra space the modualr connectors take up.

The cooler probably won't work with the memory since it's really really tall. I suggest something like G.skill Ripjaws X. Also you have not chosen a PSU, you rig needs power. A Seasonic G 550 would be good. However it would be a tight fit because of PSU size limitations. Don't worry about the CPU cooler not fitting on the motherboard, it will. Why? Because it is positioned so far away from the PCI slot so that it won't interfere with your graphics card. I would also try to squeeze in an SSD, something like the Samsung 840/840 EVO/840 Pro 120/180GB SSD.

The prodigy is pretty big for an itx system. It's almost as big as a micro atx case and is twice the size of some itx cases.

I'm going to build a mid-tier PC soon and I can't make up my mind between a mid-tower or mini-ITX case. I have a few doubts, because there are limitations for choice of power supply. And a more important question (which may seem stupid) is that since only one PCIE slot can be used, which will be the graphics card, how do people get Wi-Fi on the computer? Where does the LAN adapter go?

Micro atx is a good compromise.

There are itx mobos with built in wifi. LAN is generally build in nowadays.

Thanks for the reply. Is there any indication in the motherboard model number that there is built-in wifi?

It generally says WIFI in the name if it does.

Don't worry if it doesn't--you can just get a wireless card.

Or if you don't have an extra PCI slot, you can also use USB adapters.
