Hey, I was wondering how or if i can hook up 3 pin fans to a motherboard with only 4 pin connectors or if i will need some sort of converter?  Thanks

It'll slot in just fine, you just won't have control over the fan like a PWM fan

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

The 3 pin fan headers will fit onto a 4 pin fan connector on the motherboard, and they will work fine.

A 3 pin fan will go into a 4 pin fan connector on the mobo.

Hope this helps!

As Streetguru said i wont be able to control it like PWM fans, Can someone elaborate? the case i am talking about is NZXT phantom 410 hooking up its 3 pin fans to a MSI Z97 Gaming 5. It has a built in fan controller, will this problem I.E. 3 to 4 pin connector cause me problems? Thanks again
