Abnormally high PPD

Recently I have been getting extremely high PPD for my rig. I have been folding for a few months on a 7970 and a 3570k, and I usually get from 10k-20k. Has Folding@Home optimized for AMD cards, or is something else going on? I am currently getting 85k ppd.

85k is normal for your system

if you add "client type - advanced" in the extra slot option for the gpu, you may even get more ppd
my gpu went from 60k to ~170k

you should be getting even more from that 7970 alone.

make sure you are using the core17 wu's

the way to do it is open advanced control > configure > slots > select your gpu and press edit > and down where it says 'Extra slot options' click on add and type

Name: client-type

Value: advanced

that should give you the new-ish work units, 8900, 7810, 7811, which should net you even more ppd

As states above add the flag types and your PPD will be much high than now. My 7950 gets ~80K by itself.

Hmm. I never knew this. How long have you been able to do this? When I first started folding, from my research 7970's only got about 10-15k. Isn't it due to lack of support for Opencl on folding? I did see something somewhat recently about a beta that allowed opencl usage in for folding.

EDIT: Ah. I see. Fahcore 17 is much better optimized for Opencl http://folding.typepad.com/news/2013/06/welcome-to-fahcore-17.html
