Gmod Loading

I have over 2 hours on Gmod and guess how much time I've spent actually playing? None 

 

Why does it load so god damn long? I wait like 30 minutes and I'm still not in so I just give up, is this normal or what?

what the hell did you do to your poor gmod install?

 

my broken core2quad with broken ram, broken motherboard, dodgy 8800GT, and broken hard drive used to load it pretty much instantly.

(not exaggerating, literally every piece of that computer was broken, booting it up was a lotery...)

Probably downloading all maps and textures/sounds etc for new servers.
