Hi guys,

at first I want to mention that I'm no native- don't worry about my grammar and stuff.

So, I was playing GTA V on Pc since release, without any issues. But a few days ago I started it and I got the typical windows error: GTAV.exe was closed (don't know exactly how to say it in english).

I reinstalled it, re-downloaded it and even resetted my Windows! Nothing worked. So I tried to use the integrated graphics of my 4770k- and it worked! I was pretty confident and put my Ti back in, but I got the error again. Anyone else having problems? I don't know what else I should do. Also contacted the Rockstar support, but well... they are kind of useless. The card works fine in other applications.

I'm just uploading the launcher log as well.

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to LTT :).

If you have already reinstalled GTA V with no success, this points to a faulty GPU driver. Please use DDU and remove your nVidia GPU completely and do a clean install of the driver. This should fix the issue. If not please perform DDU again and download a different driver version.

Also if you have the chance try the GTX980Ti in different PCIe slots or a different PC, just to make sure.

EDIT: BTW please make sure that you follow your own topics ;).

Hi, thank you :)

I will try it with the tool and also test a different PCIe slot.

Sorry for that, I thought I would automatically follow my own topics

Okay, problem is not solved. I wanted to play it again, but I had the same error again. So I reinstalled the driver (with you tool) once again. But this time I rebootet the Pc and it wasn't working again. I'm really confused and don't know what to do :/

Well okay let´s see. Have you already tried to reseat the GPU in another PCIe slot and try to replicate the error? Also have you tried another driver version?

Looked at your error code in the original OP... do you run any OCs? If so please reset all Oced parts to stock and test it.

I'm sorry that it took me so long to answer... had a lot of stuff to do. I tried everything and dialed my overclock back as well - no changes. But I realised that the game is working when I close my background programs (Synapse, Creative Console, Samsung Magician). I tried this before I reinstalled the driver but nothing changed. The only weird thing is that it worked before and I haven't changed anything.
