The Build Log:

 

Posting some pictures of the skylake build I am currently working on. Nothing too crazy. Color scheme is going to be red/white/black. Starting the build with simple base components with hopes to mod in the future. Sorry for picture quality, don't have a real good place to take photos. Hope you enjoy.

 

Hardware:

  • CPU: Intel 6700k Quad Core @4.0GHz - Not Purchased
  • MOBO: Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming GT (rev 1.0) - Purchased
  • GPU: ASUS GTX 980 STRIX 4GD5 - Purchased
  • RAM: G.Skill Trident Z 16GB (2x8GB) - Purchased (Waiting on delivery)
  • SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 120GB - Puchased + Samsung 850 Evo 500GB - Not Purchased
  • Case: Corsair 750D Full Tower - Purchased
  • PSU: Corsair H100i - Purchased

I do plan to buy alchemy strips in the future as well as custom sleeved cables.

Do you mean 2x8GB for the Trident Z?

 

Also, I love the look of those DIMM' s.

I think you build is gonna end up looking awesome! Do you plan to get another graphic card in the future (because you a have nice power supply). What is the main purpose of this PC? Gaming? 

Thanks for the kind words man! The main point of this build is to serve as kind of a starting point for an epic PC down the line. I want a PC that is powerful but doesn't pressure me to spend extra money on bells and whistles. So with that being said. This build will have maximum potential for upgrades later down the line. I don't have a specific plan on what I want to do with it yet but I am looking towards the dual GPU custom loop route. I do game a lot but I am going to school for a hardware engineer course so I do plan on using this build as a test platform for overclocking and what not. (which is why I am going 6700k skylake.)
