Do the fans will always run at their maximum speed when they are attached into the motherboard??

(Planning to install a high rpm fans on my rig, but I don't want to always run them on high speed, only when on high load work/gaming, I don't have a fan controller)

Every 3pin fan can be controlled. 2pins are for powering fan and 3rd is for rpm monitoring.

On ai suite 2 you can only control 4 pin, but via the bios you can control the 3 pin ones, makes no sense LOL

:D didn't know that. Imo mobo manuals should have more information about controlling fans. My board has mode called silent which works only with 4pin fans but it isn't written anywhere.
