So I got a Project Fi invite last week and ordered my new Nexus 6p (moving up from my no longer "Ol' Reliable" S3)! Should be coming in end of the week.

Do any users have experience with Project Fi or tips with using it? (Idk what kind of tips one can give with a cell carrier but who knows ;D

Switching from my Verizon plan. Found out a couple months ago they have been overcharged for months because they switched to an updated contract system (about ~$60/month over). Tried to fight with them but they said it was my fault for not regularly checking back for new plans -___-. I've since switch to their no-contract, S, M, L, XL, plan because after that BS I knew I was jumping ship.

I am far from an expert on Project Fi, but there's nothing all that special about it. The only technical difference just a software layer that allows seamless change from cell tower to WiFi (and vice versa) mid-call. I don't think the overall experience will be all that different from just having a contract with one of the Big 4.

I speak the honest truth with a bit of snark mixed in. I'm sorry if it doesn't line up with your beliefs.

I meant personal experiences (drop calls, iffy service/connection, etc.). Many moons ago I had Sprint service and lost calls (this was before smart phones) and switch to Verizon. I know Fi piggybacks off Sprint towers but I'm hoping the +10 years since I last used them have given them time to improve service. Checked both Sprint and Tmobile and both have good coverage near me but wanted to get 1st hand reports.

Got accepted into it despite living in Canada , Googles teasing me :(

xD. I sent an request back in August and nothing happened. I sent a request again during the instant invite period, and still nothing. I sent my 3rd request around X-mas and finally got an invite a week later. Told my brother (we share Verizon service) about canceling my line and he might want to switch...he gets an instant invite >_>.

And, just to annoy me, he tried with his other google account. Another instant invite!

Google knows how to tease their customers.
