*Because of chipset limitations, do not populate both DIMM sockets of the same channel (e.g. DDRII1 and DDRII2), or populate 4 DIMM sockets with double-sided memory modules to prevent system's failure to start or incorrect detection of memory modules. Please refer to the user manual for the memory configurations table.

So I've noticed this "warning" on the web page of my motherboard (gigabyte ga-p31-ds3l).

I've made a post about my memory "bug" here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/517241-different-ram-speed/

when i saw that warning i noticed that my 800MHz stick is single sided and other 3 (667MHz) are double sided, maybe this can be the cause of those earlier errors with all 4 sticks?

i5-4690k, R9 380 4gb, 8gb-1600MHz ram, corsair vs 550w, astrock h97m anniversary.

Simply having non-identical sticks in can cause issues. But definitely yeah, since it's not only about settings but about the physical layout too. You should still run the Memtest on them one by one to rule out actually broken DIMMs. But personally, I'm not at all surprised that you're having issues. I gathered, out of your four DIMMS, none are from the same production batch with each other?

All DIMMs work fine (tested one by one), issues come when they all are in. So two are from the one manufacturer (667MHz), and other two are from other company but different speed (667 and 800), as i wrote in my other post, when my older 2 are in, everything works fine and when other two (667 and 800MHz) are in, also all good (even when i mix up two brands they work). They don't work when all four are in, so i thought that that "single-sided" and "double-sided" memory thingy might be the case.

Sounds right to me.
