PC Does not boot after sleep

Go to solution Solved by r1Ns3,

OH YEA, sorry forgot to update this post, problem solved that is the most useful cmd command ever!

Hello everyone, just noticed something weird with my pc:

When I set it to sleep mode it goes to sleep but the LEDs and fans and stuff stay on but the monitors go to sleep.

After I come back from whatever I was doing and want to continue, I press some random keys on my keyboards but all that happens is my keyboard's LEDs light up. No response from the monitors or the computer whatsoever.

Any help will be appreciated.

In the case that you are genuinely confused, press the power on button. That normally does the trick.

...

Mate im not stupid. I just don't understand why it doesn't get out of sleep mode.

And yes I have pressed the power button.

no offense was intended with that response. Are you just curious about why the keyboard lights up even though it's on sleep?

I'm curious why the computer doesn't wake up from sleep at all, power button keyboard presses and mouse clicks don't do anything.

Is it possible that there is a program still running that could be interrupting sleep process?

also, Is your computer still in this sleep mode? If not, I did a quick google and found you can use "powercfg -requests" in cmd(use as admin) to see if something is preventing it from sleeping.

Are you overclocked?

Only my video card. CPU wasn't stable at 4.6 Ghz and 1.31 Volts so I had to disable it for now, running on all stock RAM and CPU.

Update your motherboards bios, It might have a sleep problem fix.

Hmm ok, I actually haven't updated my bios. Will updating my Bios make the custom profiles be forgotten or anything like that or will it only add new features?

I did that, thanks for the reply, I'll post below what it says.

C:\Windows\system32>powercfg -requests
DISPLAY:
None.

SYSTEM:
[DRIVER] USB Audio Device (USB\VID_1532&PID_0504&MI_00\6&19605a59&0&0000)
An audio stream is currently in use.
[DRIVER] Legacy Kernel Caller

AWAYMODE:
None.

EXECUTION:
None.

PERFBOOST:
None.

I do have a USB Headset maybe that is what it is?

but I don't know what a Legacy Kernel Caller means :/

That narrows it down, something using audio is currently in use so perhaps if you have Skype running maybe that's preventing the sleep.

Yes profiles will be forgotten so you will have to take a screenshot of your bios settings or make a backup If It's possible.

you don't need to quit all running applications to stop Skype processes....

Ik I will just try and eliminate processes one by one until i find the cause. Thanks.
