So I am looking at some hard drives to put in my build and I'm kinda stuck on what to get. I want a 1tb one and the one I am liking alot is the WD Blue but I see alot of people on here with a Seagate hybrid. Just wondering what is a good hard drive that won't fail me, also it would mainly be used for storing games and some other random things that pop up.

WD Blue is an all-around decent drive. Affordable, good capacity options, and decent read / write speeds.

WD Black is what you'll want if you're looking to get a dedicated game drive, however. Much faster read / write speeds, but it does come at a cost.

were i live the segate SSHD is the only way to go with afordable 1TB of storage, only 1TB 7200rpm thats not server grade that you can get your hands on here for some stupid reason xD

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Hey there Piemanfood, :) Happy New Year!

You have a variety of choice between the 1TB solutions. It really depends on what you will be using the drive for. Gaming relies on the storage's performance only from the loading times while the FPS and graphics are not affected at all so pretty much any current drive would work.
Hybrid drives are good if you are using mainly just a few applications from the drive as these drives have a small (usually a 8GB in capacity) SSD used for caching the work files of the most commonly used applications and the drive decides on its own with its algorithm which are those applications. Everything else works at regular speeds as if it is stored on a regular drive.
SSDs are a great option but quite costly.
Performance drives can deliver great speeds and reliability as they are designed for more extensive and heavier workloads but usually cost more per GB and produce more vibrations and sound.

I would go with something like WD Blue (as you already mentioned it) as it can both deliver quite good speeds and run pretty much everything and is quite price-friendly. :) Here's more info on it: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=FzBM9Z

Feel free to ask if you happen to have any questions!
