Hey guys,

So I live in the land of the slow internet (Australia). Basically, my issue is that I live in a household with many members of my family doing different things on the internet. My brother and I are gamers, and we absolutely cannot stand ping spikes which we experience often. I was wondering if it is normal for something as simple as another family member looking at Facebook or web browsing on an iPad to cause massive ping spikes from our normal 30ish ping into the hundreds.

What can I do to rectify this? This happens on both a wired and wireless connection to our modem - which I will link here: https://www.foxtel.com.au/got/upgrades/broadband/foxtel-hub.html

Is there anything I can do? Will QoS help? And most importantly is it normal for the connection to spike so much or is there something wrong with my network?

Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this!

Mb

Ouch. That means you have a total of ~281 Kilobytes download speed. This is the problem. Your connection would be saturated almost to the max with just one person browsing facebook. The only solution is to get a better internet speed with your internet provider
