I have this monitor: http://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-25UM57-25-Inch-LED-lit/dp/B00V8FAWC2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451763579&sr=8-1&keywords=lg+25um57

The max refresh rate of the panel is 75 hertz, but the only io is hdmi (lol) so is it impossible to actually use my monitor  at it's listed refresh rate?

The AMD Crimson Drivers tells me 75, so does pretty much every other website that mentions this monitor aside from LGs. So it's kind of weird to know who to believe.

It probably can do 75 at very low resolution

And to OP, yes HDMI can do up to 120hz( or 144?) at 1080p.

The website says it does but it actually doesn't.

Well then it probably works. Just not at 75hz. It will probably do 75hz at 1024x768 or something silly like that.

  • 1 year later...

Just to give an update about this conundrum.... these idiots put 2 HDMI ports, indeed they did, marketed it as display that supports 75hz, if you set the resolution in nvidia panel it will stick but will not actually switch to 75, if you do the same in windows monitor setting, your resolution will be set to 800*600 so... no 75hz over here. I've seen some people that managed to get it working with a proper AMD graphics because this monitor (apparently) supports freesync if available
