Hi all,

I am using the stock Corsair two fans in the front and 1 in the back in addition to my Noctua NH-15 CPU cooler. I haven't "configured" the fans by software, so I don't know if they are running optimal. How do I know if they are set up in push/pull, pull etc? I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this stuff. I want to figure out if my CPU core temperatures are safe idle and under load, and if I should be changing the configuration of my fans.

Thanks!

How do I add a signature so you all see what my computer parts are?

I basically have the same setup, 2 x 240mm intake and 1 x 280mm exhaust + 2 x 280mm through a rad as push exhaust. Seems to work just fine, I couldn't think of a better config currently. Fans in cases don't really matter that much because ambient temps never really get high enough to matter, unless your room's air circulation is awful.

Thanks! Do you think upgrading the Corsair fans to Noctua will reduce temps? My CPU core seems a tad high and I'm not overclocking...around 75-80.

Changing your case fans will have more impact on the noise than the actual temps. You might get 1 maybe 2 degrees lower with more powerful fans. My fans are pretty much dead silent when i have headphones on, and it sits right next to me on my desk, my friends on Skype can't even hear it when I'm playing Crysis 3 on Ultra if that's enough to of a reference point.

My CPU idle temps are 27-29 deg C

Under load about 50 deg C gaming

Under load about 58 dec C synthetics

Ambient temps are about 35-38 deg C when playing games maxed out, so pretty much nothing.

I haven't tried OCing my CPU yet.

But if you're having issues with CPU temps take the heatsink off of your CPU and replace the thermal compound. Then reset it to see if that helps. If not you might need a new or better heatsink (which that heatsink is actually really good already, so it is probably not set on your CPU correctly).

Also what are your current system specs btw?

Thank you. My specs are below!

Yea, awsome build. I'd still try to reset the heatsink on the CPU, that thing is obnoxiously large and I can see it be not screwed on tight enough, or perhaps being too tight. You should be sitting at somewhere near 33~ deg C idle, and 65~ deg C under load.

Just remember not to spread out the paste manually, but just put just a tiny bit more than a pea sized amount in a vertical line down the cpu then mount it with opposite corners for the best spread.

Hey mate, idle my system is 25C, CPU is 22C, and PCH is 32C

CPU Fan is 625 RPM and the other three fans around around 600 RPM. Completely silent

Is this all ok?

Which benchmark should I use to test load temps?

I use prime95

http://www.mersenne.org/download/

And CinebenchR15

http://http.maxon.net/pub/benchmarks/CINEBENCH_R15.zip

Those idle temps look great. Looks like it's properly seated.

Here's a screenshot of my prime95 run stock speeds XIxOYSr.png

I'm running on a 280mm AiO water cooling solution so it's pretty ez pz to keep it cool for me. One of these days i'll quit being lazy and just OC the damn thing.

Neat, what were the temps like compared to before?

Before:

system is 25C,

CPU is 22C,

PCH is 32C

During Cinebench CPU test:

system is 29 C

CPU is 53 C

PCH is 39 C
