Internet speed

My internet speed on my pc is 60mbps download and 12mbps upload but steam only ever downloads games at a maximum speed of 10mpbs.. why?

cause steam doesn't use your full bandwidth

 

also...do a speedtest to be sure you are getting that speed

Why wouldn't steam use your full bandwidth?  I've downloaded from Steam fully saturating my 1Gbps internet.

so if i upgraded the connection to say 100mpbs it would use more? cause i can i have 150mpbs download in the office i just have a crummy solution to it at the moment. yeah that is from a speedtest
