Does ram stick capacity effect compatibility?

I was thinking of getting this 2x8GB memory kit: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/32929

for this motherboard: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/33367.

(ignore prices, it's in AUD)

Having checked through the motherboard's compatibility list, it does support the 4GB models of these exact same sticks (as part of the 4x4GB kit), same frequency and latency. does that mean the 8GB sticks should be compatible? or does the capacity effect the compatibility

As long as it is the same DDR as the motherboard supports and does not exceed the max amount of RAM then there is no reason why it shouldn't work.

PC Specs:

Core I5 4690K CPU
Gigabyte GTX 960 windforce 4GB GDDR5 GPU
Corsair 100R case
Seasonic 620W S12-II PSU
Kingston SSDNow 120GB SSD
Toshiba 1TB HDD
Asrock H97 Pro4 motherboard
8GB panram DDR3 1600 RAM
Windows 10 home 64 bit

In theor if they are the right DDR and the CPU supports that amount of RAM go for it.

You shouldn't have any problems with support for 8GB sticks of ram as those are very common and not crazy high in capacity. I wouldn't worry about it if you have the correct DDR version (ex: DDR3 w/ DDR3 motherboard).

CPU: AMD FX-6300 4GHz @ 1.3 volts | CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO | RAM: 8GB DDR3

Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P | GPU: EVGA GTX 960 SSC | SSD: 250GB Samsung 850 EVO

HDD: 1TB WD Caviar Green | Case: Fractal Design Core 2500 | OS: Windows 10 Home
