Ok, so i currently have an HP Pavilion Elite m9500y. It is currently running an AMD 700G chipset (yikes!). Its not that good of a Processor and I would like to upgrade. It holds an AM2+ socket, so it is a little out of date. but I was looking at a upgrading my Phenom X4 9750 to a faster and more efficient processor. My biggest problem is finding a new processor that is An AM2+, no body makes them anymore. So if anyone could help me find one that fits my needs for gaming that would be great! Another question being, would i need to even upgrade it at all?

There isn't really that much of an upgrade path for your chipset. I recommend saving up for a while, and then buying something like an fx-8350 and a 990fx chipset mobo.

Tokyo Sunshine:Corsair 750d case with custom lighting, Asus ROG Maximus VIII Z170, Intel i5-6600 processor, 16gb HyperX Fury DDR4 RAM, MSI r9 270x 4gb@ 1300mhz mem clock, Sandisk Ultra II SSD 256gb, 2x 1tb HDD

Make sure that your OEM mobo can be flashed if it works you can move on. I would recommend the AMD Athlon II X4 640

Looks like its time to upgrade the motherboard and the processor. Either bump up to intel or bump up to an am3+ socketed board.

Also get an FX processor with a dedicated gpu.... this will make your system a power house.
