Don't get a Razer mouse - their quality control is really bad.

Answer the following questions so you can get a proper suggestion:

  • What grip are you using? (palm, claw or fingerip grip)
  • How many buttons do you need?
  • What color of the mouse and/or it's LEDs do you prefer?
  • Do you mind mice with glossy surfaces?
  • What kind of games will you be playing with it?
  • Do you need any special features (eg. RGB backlighting, rubberized side grips, etc.)

There is a Mionix Castor on sale at Massdrop right now - https://www.massdrop.com/buy/mionix-castor-rgb-ergonomic-optical-gaming-mouse

It's a pretty nice and solid mouse if you like it's ergonomics. The price can drop to $50.

3 Black color; RGB, white, or red LEDs

4 I prefer not have a glossy surface

5 CS:GO mostly

6 No, but rubberized sides would be nice.

Oh I like light mouses.

I should probably extend the questionnaire. It kinda needs to be a sticky post when somebody asks for a suggestion. :D

The Zowie FK1 and FK2 are great for claw gripping, without gimmicks or drivers and are pretty well build. They recently got acquired by BenQ and have refreshed all their mice with a better scroll wheel and Omron swiches, which are lighter to press. It's 91 grams, so that's pretty light for most users.

If they are too expensive for you - the Logitech G402 is good too, but you'll have to turn off the blue LED. The extra buttons it has can come in handy for MMO games. If you can find a decently priced Roccat Kone Pure Millitary, Mionix Avior 7000, Steelseries Rival (Rival 300) or Corsair Raptor M45 - they are pretty good too.

I kinda suggested too many mice, but pick the one that's the most comfortable to you and fits in your budget. From a technical standpoint they are all excellent.

You can check out the massdrop link on the Castor I posted and decide whether you like it or not. It's a great deal if you have free shipping or it's not too expensive.

The Cougar 550M is a good mouse if you don't mind the orange accent it has, has RGB LEDs and it's available for around $45, but the Logitech G402 is pretty damn hard to beat at that price bracket. The only problem is that it has blue LEDs (which can be turned off of course).

If you can up your budget to $60, there are many other good mice like the Steelseries Rival (or Rival 300), Mionix Naos 7000 which has great ergonomics for palm gripping. If lights are not a must - The Zowie ZA series and EC-A series are great, without any gimmicks.

To be fair, I'm surprised that the Deathadder Chroma is $50. It's a really good mouse on paper, but Razer's quality control is abysmal. Of course, some people have their Razer mice last a lot, but generally they tend to develop some issues. It's hard for me to suggest a Razer product after having 2 of them die on me within a short period of time and under normal use. Friend's DA Chroma didn't even last 2 months.
